Las Piñas Boys Choir: another Pinoy international victory

The Las Piñas Boys Choir brought home the gold medal in the 5th World Choir Games, children's category, held in Graz, Austria last July 12. The choir also won the silver medal in the Musica Sacra Category.
The 20 member choir based in St. Joseph Church in Las Piñas, home of the world-famous bamboo organ, competed with 70 choir groups from all over the world including those from the United States, Greece, Estonia, Great Britain, Russia and South Africa. The World Choir Games happens only every two years in different countries is the largest international choir competition in terms of global coverage.
Each member went up the stage as the Philippine national anthem was played and the national flag hoisted up. The whole Philippine team, aside from the young boys’ choir members, was jubilant and proud of their country.
The young singers rendered various emotions as displayed by their winning prowess, other loudly cheered and everyone jumping for joy as the last category victory called their team.
